my favorite description of vexx was he is "an illegitimate child of wolverine and ben stiller". he's this little dude who has his whole race wiped out by this baddie named "dark yabu". he escapes and finds these magic gloves that give him special powers. past that i have no idea what the rest of the story was. makes me a perfect pick to work on the pre-rendered cinematics, since that is, well, where you learn the story. (in my defense even the lead designer didn't know the whole story until a couple weeks before ship date).

the mid-game cinematic: ah... the twist. vexx finds out his buddy darby is really yabu in disguise. vexx is tricked into taking darby/yabu into the spire where reia has been hanging out for a thousand years. (reia is the last of her kind, the astarans, as well). yabu splits through some portal and vexx has to go in after him to "save the world". note - the red asterisk (*) in the upper left corner denotes scenes i animated. *requires divx 5.2 6 megs
