lance myers is a local renaissance man. musician, animator, fine artist, shit hot dancer... well, maybe not dancer - i don't know. anyway, i've worked with him at both acclaim and a company called human code. while at hc, he approached me with helping him with an idea he had about an animated short. i loved the story, so i did a few tests to see if his idea of 2d characters interacting with a 3d background would work. the test turned out great and so, subsidized fate was born. little by little, over layoffs and crunch periods we worked on it and after 3 years, a nice grant from the austin film society and a bunch of other artists pitching in it was completed. lance has been entering the film in numerous festivals and it's been winning a bunch of awards. you can learn more about it at lance's site - lancefever.com
