here's some stuff i couldn't categorize. mostly tests and stuff i did when i got bored.

:: at st transport (aka "chicken walker")
a co-worker once said every 3d artist at some point in their career has to build a mech walker. it's mandatory. i got mine out of the way in college, i did a crappy animation with it, but i was happy with how the model turned out.

:: pin thing
remember those desktop toys they sold in spencer's gifts that had a gazillion pins that you could displace? almost everyone has either made middle fingers or put their face on it (i did). this was a test if i could use an animated dispacement map to animate the pins pushing out. someone has since made a plugin that does this but here's my version...

this was a test if i could make a convincing animated xray look. i liked it but never used it again. unfortunately i no longer have the recipe for the look. it invovled a lot of after effects, though.
