just as 100 bullets
kicked off, the acclaim glencove studio started freaking out about
getting things done for the alias game project. i and a few other
artists were allocated for 6-8 weeks to help out with the england
studio. my role was to create the lipsync for the HUD. the characters
would pop up on a little screen and give you mission details and
tips. there 650 lines of dialog!! at the time we were using a program
called animeter from lipsync (now defunct). i was able to modify
their reader scripts to create the maxfiles & auto genrated
lipsync in one batch process. i also created a batch renderer for
all these files, which you can find here.
after the lipsync was done i created animations of various things
to be shown on computer screens in the background during the pre-rendered
cinematics. |

the blood
diamond:
i don't have the dialog that went with this
animation, but it was along the lines of anna of the k-directorate
& rambaldi clan was going to try and steal this diamond. it
has a special blood chamber in it & the blood within has some
weird power. the animation played on a computer screen while the
dialog was being spoken. it shows how the blood was inserted into
the chamber.
the challenging part of this anim was getting the diamond to look "diamondy". i was happy with the way it turned out. if anyone wants
the recipe, i'll post it & the matlib for it. just lemme know...
